October 2006, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern NY granted Sydney's wish to visit the princesses at Disney.  Make-A-Wish is a national foundation that grants wishes to kids with life threatening illnesses.  They sent the family on an all-expense paid vacation to Orlando, Florida.  Everything was paid for from the air fare for everyone right down to meals, tickets to Disney, Universal, Sea World, and much more.  Accommodations were at an amazing place in Kissimmee called "Give Kids the World Village".  It's a mini-resort in itself that provides accommodations, meals, and activities to families with kids with life threatening illnesses all totally free of charge.  If you'd like to learn more about these wonderful organizations visit them at www.northeast-ny.wish.org and www.gktw.org .
